This show is a portrait of the modern weapon. Weapons obsess western society. They appear relentlessly on television and in the media. We are martial, whether we like it or not.
As a painter, an observer, I believe we have a duty to look closely at something that is central to society. I hope, as it were, to have done the looking for you.
For four years I was granted unprecedented access to the Army's weapons and made 14 paintings of different forms of weapon, including the soldiers themselves.
